2022 Boys and Girls Summer Ball

Fort Hunt Youth Lacrosse Summer Ball!

FHYL will be offering skills clinics during the Summer of 2022 for girls and boys. In July and August the club will offer 4 sessions for kids in grades 2 through 9. Our Summer sessions will be fast paced and fun. They will include skill development for players who have played the game of lacrosse before as well as beginner instruction for kids trying lacrosse for the first time. Our summer ball sessions will be run by Peter Stamos, an assistant coach at West Potomac High School, a Fort Hunt Youth Lacrosse alumni, and a Clemson University club team alumni. Peter will be assisted by current high school and college players.

When: Friday evenings....July 22, July 29, August 12, August 19

Where: Carl Sandburg Middle School turf field

Time: Grades 2-5  girls and boys (5:30pm to 7pm), Grades 6-9 girls and boys (7pm to 8:30pm)

Cost: The registration fee is $140 for all four clinics if you register by July 1, $160 if you register after July 1

2022 Junior Coach Registration

Hey Coach!

Thank you for joining us! 

This program is designed to help High School age (up to 18 years old) Fort Hunt alumni to certify as Level 1 Junior Coaches and to help Fort Hunt Youth Players to reach their full potential through the great sport of lacrosse.

Here are the requirements to certify as a Level 1 Fort Hunt Youth Lacrosse Junior Coach for Spring 2022:

  • Have a good attitude, focused on making the players' experience as good as it can be
    • Submit a coaching philosophy
  • Read, understand and agree to the FHYAA  code of conduct
  • Complete the basic Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) Double Goal Coach training, in person or on-line (no charge)
  • Complete the Level 1 US Lacrosse online course (no charge)
  • Complete “How to make proper contact” US Lacrosse online course (boys’ game only/no charge)

Here are the requirements to coach Fort Hunt Youth Lacrosse for Spring 2022:

  • Have a good attitude, focused on making the kids' experience as good as it can be
  • Be a member of US Lacrosse valid through June 2022
  • Read, understand and agree to the FHYAA and NVYLL codes of conduct
  • Receive a positive (Green Light) NCSI background screening (no charge)
  • Complete the basic Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) training, in person or on-line (no charge)
    • Once completed, it does not expire
  • Complete the CDC Concussion Training, on line (no charge)
  • Complete the Level 1 US Lacrosse online course or live clinic (Assistant Coaches)
  • Certify US Lacrosse Coach Development Program (CDP) Level 1 or higher (Head Coaches)
  • Complete “How to make proper contact” US Lacrosse online course (boys’ game only)
